Overview

This article describes the contents of the version 8730 SnapHire product release. This version is available for general release from 3rd November 2021.

Details

This release includes:

  • Improvements
  • General bug fixing

Improvements

This version includes the following improvements:

Soundbite

Users no longer need the special permission Can Perform Site Setup to be able to record a soundbite prompt. Now users can record this prompt provided that they have enough permissions to manage the question they are editing.

Multi-choice questions can now be deleted or inactivated

Before, choices that contained answers against them couldn't be deleted. Now the following options are available:

  • Delete: This action removes the choice and all its previous answers. Therefore, this choice will not appear in any reports after being deleted.
  • Inactivate: This action makes the choice not visible to candidates but still appears in your reports.

Please note that when there are no answers associated with a particular choice, that value can only be deleted, not inactivated.

Registration questions and job specific questions

On registration and job specific questions, both options - delete and inactivate - will be available based on the logic explained above.

Default job questions

Since default job questions are never answered (they are used as a template set of questions for new jobs) it is only possible to delete but not inactivate.

Accessibility

Further improvements in accessibility of the new application form have been made to better support screen readers and keyboard navigation.

New Application Form

We have changed the behaviour of incomplete registrations in the new application form. Before, candidates were required to submit an application or a registration for their account to be considered complete. Now, a candidate registration is considered complete provided that the account has Email address, First name, Last Name and Source filled in.

This new logic aligns better with the behaviour of our legacy apply experiences.

Menu setup admin screen

The 'Sort' option of the menu items on the 'Menu setup' admin screen can now be dragged and dropped to arrange their order

General bug fixing

This version corrects defects introduced in previous versions of SnapHire.

  • The Refer to a friend page was accessible for closed jobs when entering the URL directly, now an error message will be displayed when the job is no longer advertised.
  • Candidates uploading files with a file extension in capitals (e.g. .PDF, .PNG, DOCX) could receive an "invalid format" error. Now file extensions are case insensitive.
