Overview

This article describe the contents of the version 8461 SnapHire product release.  This version is available for limited release from the 28th April 2017.  This release is limited as it is only required for clients who are using SnapHire with the Talent App Store enabled, and where the 'Sign in with SAML' identity app has been installed for internal people who need to provide employee references (instead of email address) for their sign in validation.  The contents of this version will be packaged into the next general release of SnapHire product (likely to be version 8462).

Release details

The 'Sign in with SAML' identity app is typically used by organizations who require their internal people to sign in to SnapHire using authentication from another one of their systems, instead of using a password stored in SnapHire.  This allows the internal person to sign in as a user (e.g. Manager/Recruiter) to SnapHire to review/process applications by using their login (and be validated) from another system in their organization.

This version contains only one change - to enhance the ways SnapHire can find employee information it holds to validate the internal person:

  • Previously SnapHire could only find the internal person using their email address stored in SnapHire.
  • In this version we have included the ability for SnapHire to find an internal person via a unique employee reference (e.g. employee number) held within a specified field in SnapHire.

Please note that this change only applies to 'Sign in with SAML' for principal type of 'User', not 'Candidate'.
